Digging out the foundation

Nothing there in the beginning…

The vision takes shape

…The vision starts taking shape…

…Once a creative inspiration,  now a beautiful work of art!

One of my life’s most creative and beautiful works of art is Villa Poema de Amor, Villa Love Poem, named after two of the strongest foundations in my life, love and poetry. Located in the charming fishing and surfing village of Sayulita, Mexico, the villa is an exquisite example of the manifestation of a dream. Mine was to wake one day surrounded by a view of the sea. For nowhere do I feel as creative, inspired and whole as when I am overlooking an infinite view of water.

From digging out the foundation with our local hard working Mexican crew to working with local artisans on the finishing details, this, for me, was a journey of immense creative satisfaction. Having co-created the villa with my dear friend Lloyd Haines, who is also a lover and supporter of the arts, we made sure that the beauty of the culture was seen throughout the villa with hand-painted sinks, hand carved mirrors, hand-stitched pillows, hand-woven rugs & custom woodwork, ironwork and masonry. This manifestation of a creative vision took shape one step at a time, as most of our creations do, and became something even more exquisite than I had imagined.

I named the 5 separate casas after poets, Hafiz, Lorca, Neruda Rumi and my own initials for Casita ZEN.  The views are breathtaking with Sayulita beautiful bay, the jungle and an infinite view of the ocean which is also seen from the infinity pool. It is my pleasure to share this dream with you and to peer together at your dreams. Miracles do happen when we dare to dream!
